How This Grant Works:
Win start up funds, jewelry materials, media exposure and recognition by the only business grant competition of its kind in the industry.
Halstead Bead is proud to support American jewelry designers every day with our great products & services as well as this development program.
To qualify, you must be:
- Designers using jewelry making techniques such as metalsmithing, metal clay, wire work or beading are eligible to enter the competition.
- The artist's primary metal medium should be silver.
- US citizens who began their businesses within the last three years.

Grant Name: Amber Grant
Amount Awarded: $500
How This Grant Works:
Finding money to start a small business - especially money for women entrepreneurs and start-ups is not easy - so we thought we would try to help a bit!
To qualify, you must be:
- Women who are trying to start small businesses, home-based or online.

Grant Name: 2012 Women's Entrepreneur Grant Program
Amount Awarded: 5 grants of $12,500
How This Grant Works:
The Eileen Fisher grant program seeks applicants from wholly women-owned businesses that combine the principles of social consciousness, sustainability, and innovation to create new businesses or invigorate existing ones.
To qualify, you must be:
- Must be an established business or start-up.
- Your business must be innovative.
- 100% women owned.
- Produce products that foster environmental and economical health in the global community.

Grant Name: Digital Women Business Grant 2012
Amount Awarded: $750
How This Grant Works:
With the economy as it stands, more and more women are struggling to make ends meet. Digital Women ® wants to help!
You can use the cash any way you please. You can invest in your business, expand your business, buy some equipment or you can use it to catch up on bills. The choice is yours!
To qualify, you must be:
- Your business must be at least 51% woman owned.
- You do NOT have to be a member to apply.

Company: CAT Connecticut Center For Advance Technology, Inc
Grant Name: Small Business Incubator Program
Amount Awarded: $30,000 - CCAT will compensate the technology company's supplier of the product or service 100% of the approved contract amount up to thirty-thousand dollars ($30,000) - SBIP funds will be limited to thirty-thousand dollars ($30,000 per technology company).
How This Grant Works:
The intent of the SBIP legislation is to provide grant money directly to start-up companies housed in incubator facilities for the purpose of easing the inherently high financial burden of growing a high technology based business in today's economic climate.
To Qualify You Must Be:
- A technology company.
- Must be located in a Connecticut Based Incubator Facility.
Expires: This program is being administered on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to the availability of funding.

Company: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc. (Huggies)
Grant Name: The Huggies® MomInspiredT Grant Program
Amount Awarded: $15,000 in seed money as well as business resources to further the development of original product ideas and startup businesses.
How This Grant Works:
Huggies® will award grants for ideas and existing small businesses that are original and designed to help make life easier for parents so that they can better enjoy everyday moments with their little ones.
To qualify, you must be:
- Applicants are 21 years of age or older.
- Currently reside in the United States.
- Applicants with business partners are welcome to submit grant proposals as long as those business partners meet the above criteria as well.

Company: Leadership Grant
Grant Name: Leadership Grant
Amount Awarded: $1,000 to $100,000.
How This Grant Works:
A Leadership Grant is an award of financial assistance to a recipient in support of starting or growing a small business. Any individual that wishes to start or grow a small business in the United States may benefit from a Leadership Grant.
Almost 90% of applicants that submit a well-prepared business plan on time, demonstrate matching funds and meet eligibility requirements receive some form of cash award or in-kind funding.
To qualify, you must be:
- Ready to start or launch their new business within 6 months,
- Over the age of 18,
- American Citizen or legal immigrant.
Expires: Grant Proposals are reviewed upon receipt. Final decisions and fund allocations are completed quarterly each year. (January, April, July & October).
