History of Business Money Today

Business Money Today was founded in the summer of 2007 to address the many concerns of new and established businesses regarding the future of financing options for their companies.

Business Money Today was founded by Joseph Lizio, an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship, who, through years of working with businesses in finding and obtaining capital sources, decided to create a single web based portal that provides both information and resources regarding the many types of financial options that businesses have regardless of their stage of business.

Prior to starting Business Money Today, Mr. Lizio, as the Executive Director of a business incubator in Texas, realized that many business owners, while very good at producing their products or providing their services, usually had no clue when it came to financing a business. In this position, and in addition to helping these incubated businesses grow and development, Mr. Lizio realized that he and his staff spent a tremendous amount of time educating clients about the numerous types of financing vehicles that were available to them as well as in helping them prepare their businesses to be able to take advantage of those opportunities.

Years of education, banking and financing experience as well as first hand executive management in new, growing businesses cumulated into the financing Internet portal for Business Money Today.

As the company moves forward in its mission to provide relevant financing information and resources for businesses, the company is creating unique tools and resources to further help all businesses get to that next level. To date, these tools include:

• The Business Money Today Portal providing information and resources for businesses seeking capital - from traditional loans and lines of credit to alternative capital sources to include hybrid loans and assets based lending. The portal also hosts a search feature where businesses can pick and choose resources based on their needs or preferences.
• A searchable database for venture capital and angel capital firms,
• Loan and payment calculators designed to help users better understand the relationships between loan amounts, interest rates and loan terms,
• As well as in-depth financial ratio calculators that will not only help business owners understand the financial strengths of their business but help them better understand ways to improve their business (financially) as they move forward.
• Not to mention its extensive directory of articles related to Financing, Management, Entrepreneurship, and Alternative Financing.

It has always been the opinion of our founder that small businesses are and will always be the backbone of this economy and our country. As a people, a culture and a nation, we should do everything that each one of us can do to ensure the longevity and procreation of as many small businesses as we can.
